Personal Created Deities: The Five of Sol

I suppose a good place to start with this blog is to talk about my faith. I follow and revere many gods of many pantheons, but the gods I wish to speak of today are my personal revived pantheon, reignited from the ashes of my former life. All are welcome to follow Them, and all questions are greatly welcomed.

The Five of Sol are a pantheon of sun deities, believed to be a family. They are generally referred to by they/them pronouns, but individuals who feel them to be a specific gender may refer to them as such -- I tend to refer to Mayra with “she” pronouns, for example. An individual can be devoted to any number of them, and worshiping/revering the entire pantheon is not necessary -- most choose one particular God which they resonate with.

Elri
Elri, sometimes simply referred to as Hope, is the Goddess of Hope and New Life, and the Mother of the Gods. Once Joined with Ashenreth, She was responsible for the Great Birth -- one of many creation stories. Legend tells that when She birthed the three young Gods, the fires of her love and the pure strength behind the birthing created Sol itself. Elri is associated with the element Fire, and the direction North, and is responsible for watching over all life; sending hope and love to any who need it.

Offering ideas: fruit, fruity tea or juice, sex offerings, caring for your family and friends, feathers, eggs/eggshells, seashells, burning candles or incense, blood, makeup, wearing something that makes you feel good, uplifting others, cinnamon, music that gives you hope, amethyst, emerald

Ashenreth
Ashenreth, sometimes simply referred to as Sorrow, is the God of Sorrow and Darkness, and Father of the Gods. When the Great Birth happened, Ashenreth did not see such miracles that His family did. He saw the ugliness and darkness that could become of this new world, and sought to undo what had been done. He turned against the other Gods when He could not convince them of His foresight, and was defeated by Elmiré; confined to the Realm of Darkness. However, He still holds influence over the us as our Father. Some believe He instills our hearts with darkness and influences Mayra to cause destruction and sorrow. Others believe He is just as important to us as the Light; knowing that without accepting the darkness there can never be full awareness to the Light, and fear of the darkness will only bring it forth. Ashenreth is associated with the element Earth and the direction South.

Offering ideas: Strong teas, coffee, food with rich tastes such as chocolate or cream, objects associated with personal pain, blood, making painful (but ultimately good) decisions in His name, seeking the good that came from a painful experience, taking steps to recovery from harmful behaviours/addictions, self-exploration, bones, feathers, sharp objects, strong smelling candles/incense, music that helps you cope with sadness, obsidian, smoky quartz

Elmireth
Elmireth is the Deity of Light and Good, and the eldest child of the Gods. They are considered the most level-headed and wise of the Gods, and are responsible for guiding the people along the Path of Life -- ensuring they remember their duties and do not stray into the darkness. Associated with the element Quintessence and the direction South, They guide Mayra in matters of choice and morality, and it is commonly debated over whether it is They or Elmiré who are the mirror of Ashenreth.  

Domains: Light, good, positivity, morality, judgement, direction, balance, choice, free will, duty, diligence, tough love, courage, personal strength, guidance, identity, fate, autonomy, responsibility, quintessence, spirit, the direction of South

Offering ideas: burning candles, doing good deeds, giving to charity, making a tough (but ultimately good) decision, something that makes you feel grounded, staying true to your identity, helping others stay true to their identities, self-expression, music that makes you feel complete, clear quartz, aquamarine

Elmiré
Elmiré is the Deity of Love and Peace, and the middle-child of the Gods. It is Their duty to create love amongst the people, and to restore peace when it is broken. They are considered the most loyal and passionate of the Gods, and often guide Mayra in matters of the heart and soul. Though not the God of Light and a hotly debated topic, Elmiré is widely considered the mirror to Ashenreth, and was responsible for imprisoning Him in the Realm of Darkness. Elmiré is associated with the element Air and the direction East.

Domains: Love, peace, loyalty, passion, courage, togetherness, friendship, family, positivity, justice, protection, painful truth, acceptance, equality, belonging, self-care, care of others, kindness, air, the direction of East.

Offering ideas: doing something romantic, pink or red candles, self-love, sweet foods such as honey, facing up to a hard truth, accepting your loved ones for who they are, accepting yourself for who you are, taking care of a loved one, acts of self-care, going out with friends, messaging a friend to check in on them, soft-smelling incense, rose quartz, citrine

Mayra

Mayra is the Deity of Fate and Rest; the youngest child of the Gods. They are responsible for pulling at the strings of Fate; easing us towards our chosen path and determining what is necessary to the Balance. Some see Mayra as a playful child, toying with the people as They see fit; while others see Them as a young paragon of knowledge and wisdom, with Their two siblings guiding each decision They make. Either way, Mayra is considered by many to be the most powerful of the Gods, as they are not only responsible for our lives, but our deaths. Mayra is associated with the element Water and the direction West.

Domains: Fate, rest, self-care, achieving goals, mischief, playfulness, childhood, innocence, wisdom, stories, balance, life, death, change, knowledge, prophecy, personal strength, courage, faith, water, the direction of West

Offerings: Subtle-tasting herbal teas (such as Chamomile), peanuts, ribbons and strings, songs that follow a specific narrative/tell a story (particularly folk music), taking care of yourself, overcoming personal boundaries and fears, soft-scented candles, dancing, cinnamon, labradorite, tigers eye
